Course Structure

The set of sessions breaks down into the following:

• 15 Sessions covering revision of each module in the format of mind maps. You can also download the mind maps to edit yourself. Some modules have been separated into 2 sessions to separate content for Combined Science (also required for Separate Science students) and then content for Separate Science students only

• 15 Additional sessions on revision skills including:

- Exam application – covering command words, answering equations and how to answer 6 markers

- Answering 6 markers – 3 sessions going through more examples of 6 markers from each of the 3 sciences with opportunity to use to create a library of model answers

- Required practicals – around 30% of marks are based upon the required practicals. You need to know them! These sessions recap and provide video links to the practical’s. There are a total of 6 sessions covering practicals from paper 1 and 2 for all three sciences.

- Maths in Chemistry – 2 sessions covering the quantification aspects of Chemistry from atomic structure, isotopes, balancing equations, moles and titrations.

- Maths in Science –  A session covering the maths needed to answer science questions. Includes averages, % changes, graphs etc.

- Practical skills – terminology and skills to boost confidence on how to answer and approach practical questions.

- Learning Equations – a game themed session to get familiar with equations, re-arranging and knowing their units.
